About the Role
The principal data management role is accountable for delivering high quality projects data to BHP Projects personnel as part of the PCoE (Project Centre of Excellence). This role provides technical expertise focussed on maintaining and governance of BHP Projects' data management creating opportunities for value creation and preservation by setting program-wide strategies for standardisation, replication and continuity and working on prioritised improvements. Based in Santiago, this role is part of a global team, working with a team based in Chile, Australia and Canada.
As the Principal Data Management, you will draw on your technical and leadership experience to deliver against the following responsibilities:
• Data engineering and modelling using in Snowflake, DBT, SQL and python
• Use, store, classifies and manage data/metadata to maintain the quality and integrity of BHP data and ensure compliance with data security, privacy and legal requirements.
• Develop, optimise and govern project data management strategies to drive continuous improvement and replication of best practices across projects while optimising value for the long term
• Develop and adhere to data management principals, processes and systems, strategies and governance standards and integrates multiple sources of project information to drive the accurate capture of project information across the projects life cycle.
About You
The following are key experience required to be successful in this role:
• Data engineering, data modelling and database management experience working with SQL, Snowflake, DBT
• Exposure and experience with data capture platforms
• English language proficiency is required
• Experience running continuous improvement cycles/projects and Git
• Exposure to large capital projects also highly beneficial experience with project information and process management systems highly desirable (Planview, Ecosys, Primavera P6 etc)
